Thirteen days to Christmas, the United Kingdom is battling an epidemic of Avian Flu, the strain HN51. Woods Farm at Much Hoole, near Preston suffered a tragic loss of business into the run up to their busiest time of the year.

Floorball evolves at UCLan Tom Finney Sports Centre.

Floorball a new sport is thriving at UCLan Tom Finney Sports Centre, a fun, fast, safe and exciting form of floor hockey.

The sport introduced this year at UCLan’s Tom Finney Sports Centre. It’s like ice hockey without ice.

On the December 5, 2024, episode of BBC Question Time, filmed in Lincoln and hosted by Fiona Bruce, an audience member made a notable remark about Donald Trump, he said “Donald Trump hit the ground running, over here our Government’s just hit the ground.” This was directed as a critique of the UK Labour government, with panelist Jacqui Smith reportedly reacting uncomfortably. The remark reflects a comparison between Trump’s perceived decisive action after his November 2024 election win and the UK government’s slower start under Labour leadership.
